Felt Roses & Graduation Cap for Beloved Sister's Graduation Day

Whoaa ... I am so excited when I'm first started to have the idea to DIY felt roses for my sis graduation. I've been thinking a long time to DIY paper flowers for her but one day when I came across the felt roses photos when I google search for cakes recipes, I've decided to make felt roses as it look much more "real & lively" compare to the paper flowers. Since it's a graduation day, roses alone will be quite boring and I've thought of buying bears with the robe, graduation cap and scroll but I don't have the time to do so. So I came up with the idea of creating graduation cap myself to put it together with the roses. I've bought some dried flowers too so that the bouquet will look fulller...

Here are the end results!!!

Peacock Inspired Makeup

Hi all,

It's been a while since my last blog. I've been quite busy lately and also lazy to update my blog. I would like to share with you my latest art work which I've been keep trying to improve here and there before I post this out to the public.

I've used blue, green and purple on the eye makeup which I think resembles the colour of peacock. The highlight will be on eye areas and others will be on lighter side. I've used pinkish shade at the cheek. I've also add the gold flakes on one of the eyebrow and on the nude lips which to create a more elegant and classy look.

I'm quite happy with the outcome of overall makeup although I agree that there is still room for improvement.

In the making process ...

DIY Rose Crystal Bridal Bouquet

Hi all,

It's been a while since my last post... I'm tied up with my wedding for all the DIY stuff that I've done. Here I would like to share my own DIY hand bouquet. I've wanted to have an unusual hand bouquet for myself and I've thought of having a beaded or crystal hand bouquet and I've goggled to find some photos. I manage to find the Swarovski crystal hand bouquet video and it's awesome!!! I knew that I've to DIY my own bouquet again as I found the video 2 days before my actual wedding day. I head to the shop which I bought my sewing stuff to search for the material that I need.

I manage to find the crystals and the shop owner recommended the foam artificial rose flower (with organza) to me. So instead of doing the whole bouquet with crystals I added a few stalks of the artificial rose. This isn't only save up the time and it do shows contrast to the crystals.

Materials:
Artificial rose flower - foam  (10 stalks)
White or green artificial stems (with wire)
10 branches of yellow crystals
10 branches of orange crystals
2-3 meters of yellow tulle
2 meters of 1"-11/2" yellow/peach satin ribbon
1.5 meters of pearl strings

Instructions:
1. Twine a yellow and an orange crystal around one artificial stem. Complete 9 sets of artificial stems with yellow and orange crystals. (The remaining set will be use for the boutonniere)

2. Arrange the roses in between the crystal stems.

3. Then, secure the stems together with floral tape (winding it firmly around several times in the same place as before), rubber band or wire (head and bottom).

4. Since the artificial stems are thin, you may use cloth, t-shirts or in my case, the extra tulle to wrap around the stems (about 7" from the bottom to top) to make it fuller. Tie it with a rubber band.

5. Now get the tulle and cover the whole bouquet.

6. Wrap the satin ribbon around the stems (from bottom to top) to cover the tape and finish off the bouquet by attaching the pearl strings with glue around the ribbon from bottom.

Voila you're done!! I hope that this DIY Rose Crystal Bridal Bouquet is an inspiration to you brides-to-be out there. Below are some of the photos of both the hand bouquet and boutonniere.

Please do send me photos of your completed bouquet if you did one for your big day ......
I would really LOVE to see !!!

DIY for my ROM

Hi all,

I've just made a hand bouquet on my Registration of Marriage (ROM) day. I actually saw a photo in the internet and thought it would be lovely if I DIY one for my ROM. Other than that, I've make some changes of the DIY signs from theprettyblog by Susan Brand to my own version. I've thought of making all these few months back and ..... tada ..... I've managed to made my own version which I'm quite impressed and proud of.

Here is my own version of the hand bouquet.
My version of the Mr and Mrs Sign which you can download if you like.

Last but not least, my initial plan to use the "Just Married flag design" from Martha Stewart which I've downloaded and printed out for my pre-wedding shoot at the beach were ruined by the unhelpful and unfriendly photographer (from the bridal house). We did not managed to take any photo with this and keep it for our ROM too.

Garden International School Charity Show

Date: 22nd November 2011
Location: Garden International School

We need to make up approximately 2-3 models (students) per makeup artist (MUA). The eyes are exaggerated with winged sharp pink (outer corner) and a touch of golden brown eyeshadow (inner corner). A define black eyeliner was applied close to the lash line and not forgotten the volumize black mascara too. While the eyebrow are drawn higher than the model's eyebrow with sharp edges in black eye pencil for a bold look. The nude lips balance out and making it a perfect blend.

TRUTH @ BREMEN WONG Presentation / Show 2011

Date: 4th December 2011
Time: 10.00am to 12.00am
Location: National Textile Museum

I'm doing the makeup for one of the BCWA (Breast Cancer Wellfare Association) spokeperson and she's so patient while I'm doing her makeup. I makeup on half of her face as a comparison for a before and after look of a cancer patient.

Make Up for SP Setia (White Team) - 60pax

Date: 17th December 2011
Time: 12.00am to 5.00pm
Location: The Summit Hotel Subang USJ

We are running in a tight schedule where each of the MUA will be given 15 minutes to complete a makeup. It's quite a challenging job for us to make sure that the colour will stand out among the rest of the team.

That's all for now... C ya !!!
